From the Garden of Gethsemane to the Garden Route…
It sometimes happens that “strange bedfellows” get together to pool their resources and to work against a common foe or rival. Political alliances are formed by parties that have been sworn enemies for decades. Businesses that have been competing for market share settle their differences to oppose a newcomer. In international affairs countries that have fought each other in wars will team up together to make a strong defence pact.
The Roman authorities were no friends of the Jewish religious leadership in Christ’s day. The Jewish leaders – and their people – just yearned to be rid of their Roman overlords. And neither group was kindly disposed to Jesus or any of his disciples. But for Judas there was a chance to “make a quick buck”. The Jewish leaders were plain jealous of Jesus and saw him as a threat to their hold over the population and the traditions they had built up. The Romans were happy to have the collaboration of the traitor and the Jewish bigwigs in order to keep law and order – there was a history of trouble from would-be rebels and Jesus had talked about his “kingdom”. So the league of evil went to work – with some money changing hands to “facilitate” the operation.
People involved in evil go to great lengths to achieve their goals. They “leave no stone unturned” and sink many differences with natural enemies. Have your eyes wide open and never be surprised when evil surfaces. Greed, envy, and power make a toxic brew. And they will still league together to ultimately crucify us, the voters.

We’re certainly living in crazy times. Rather than trying to figure out who is good or bad, or who is ANC or DA, i’m tempted to follow the simple solution of pushing all of them into a corner for the bad and beg, “Let’s start again.”
Great suggestion Wicked Mike, they must ALL go and you know what themselves!
Yep, we need new leaders. And not rehashed ANC or DA politicians rehashed into Independents.
Purrrrrrfect solution
Good point Wicked Mike! And if Brummer is leading the pack of the new so called independents, they are doomed before they even start.
Unholy Alliance or alliance of convinience are always up to no good and don’t work and are a recipe for a fiasco,a case in point is the unholly alliance of johan brummer and charles dreyer. If u look at the history of their alliance and what brought the two together u will understand that really unholly alliance don’t work. What really brought them together is the fact that they wanted to lay their hands into the coffers of the Bitou tourism office or (plettenberg bay tourism as Tony Lubner or Peter Wellington would like it to be called) with the hope that it will give them access to opportunities that this industry present as it was regarded as very lucrative and also regarded as the goose that lay the golden egg and of course for brummer it was an opportunity to please his former boss and friend tony from the monkeyland who was accused of rape and murder.Unfortunately their plans did not materialise and the whole allianc floundered. When this all failed, they then changed their focused to the coffers of bitou municipality.
Private interests got hold of Knysna Tourism. They have refused to shared details of who gets what from the budget. Knysna Municipality (especially Mayor Georlene Wolmarans, Deputy Mayor Michelle Wasserman, Councillor Esme Edge and Corporate Services Manager, Reggie Smith) have helped hide facts from the public. I had proposed that there be better cooperation between Garden Route tourism offices to Tourism CEO, Shaun van Eck, but met a blank wall. Knysna Tourism even turned down a joint venture, subsidized by government, that would have the Garden Route represented as one at the Indaba. Knysna said no and forked out an excessive sum, at taxpayer’s expense, to do it alone. But, suddenly, when Plett Tourism gets handed over, they announce cooperation with Knysna Tourism i.e. be worried.
What bloody moderation is that as this is not a bloody exam, its a blog
Most websites hold new commentators for moderation to prevent spam. Spam is unfortunately most of the world’s email and spam.
i thought the censorship was an act polotitians in order to hide sensitive information away from the public i did not know that bloggers are also being censored under a new invented word called moderation.Mense ek kan dit nie glo nie.Its the same thing that this blog did to Marius Murths when he was expressing his views against the late Neil Oelofse. ek kan dit rerig nie glo nie
I m very happy that u have followed up the response of wicked mike mooijan because I think it was not warranted and he tried to divert your comments by giving an irrelevant response of the knysna tourism whereas Mooijan’s coments were about Bitou Tourism or Plettenberg Bay tourism and the corruption that is taking place there and the usual suspects and protagonists that want to loot the public purse under the guise of creating tourism opportunities in plett through marketing.Mooijan was spot on the topic of the LEAGUE OF EVIL POLITICIANS however he was recoining the concept as the UNHOLY ALLIANCE OR ALLIANCE OF CONVINIENCE. How that is relevant to knysna tourism realy baffles my mind.Back to the point, I think it is up to the residents of bitou to fight corruption everywhere it manifest itself whether it is in the tourism or at the municipality. As for johan brummer I think he is HISTORY and he is in the dustbin of history or in a political wilderness as for me I think HE GOT WHAT HE DESERVE and lets not fool ourself and think he is going to fight back, he can’t he is FINISHED.We should now be focusing on the remaining EVIL POLITICIANS who are remaining like the stupid Memory Booysen and the devious and dubious Charles Dreyer and their greedy lawyer John Guilespe or Gestapo whatever that surname is.As long as the three musketeers are there,ALUTA CONTINUA. John Guillespe or Gestapo became a multi millionaire whithin six moths from Bitou municipality when the DA took over.He is a criminal lawyer with no proper offices who knows nothing about municipal law or administrative law.
what is being moderated in this comment
I always wonder when is corruption, corruption.By whom must corruption be committed before it can be regarded as corruption. When do journalists write about corruption and by whom must corruption be committed before journalists can write about it.When do newspapers papers publish stories about it and by whom must it be committed before they can publish.Hopefully some of u guys can answer my questions bcos there is clearcut acts of corruption in the issues raised by STIRFRY.
I don’t know what censorship is Mooijan talking about, can anyone shed some light on this especially Marius Murths that has been mentioned bcos i think there is freedom of speech in this blog.
As enige iemand meer wil weet oor alles wat die ouens hierbo kwyt geraak het gaan praat met die apieplek se buurman wat die katjies het, hy het BAIEEEEE staltjies om te vertel oor hierdie manne glo maar vir my!!
Let me add my reaction to the debate regarding the Plettenberg Bay/Wavelengths debacle. As a fellow South African and investor I am too like many others concerned about the political dispensation and how those in power disregard the rule of law and act with impunity. We need to know where we heading and how to plan our future. This to me was a great opportunity to use as bench mark for my own understanding and planning.
As a retired 14 year veteran involved with the inner workings of governmental processes and accounts I fail to understand how with all the controls, procedures, auditors, internal and external, the minister could allow a contract to be signed, R 29 million in funds procured and paid over to the powers that be for a property worth R2.1 million. This is a no brainer… – http://www.justiceandequality.co.za/decoding-the-wavelength-debacle-in-bitou.
The only way to make a difference is through discussion and public participation. Your comment was the most comprehensive we’ve received. Thank you! As it was an article in itself (and highly informative), we’ve posted it as a full page at the link we added to the end of your edited comment. To all who are reading this, we highly recommend that you follow that link!
Politicians will always look after their own interest first. They can’t help it it is like an “incurable disease”they suffering from. I feel sorry for politicians as they really want to perpetuate a social agenda, but fail to because they revert back to their own personal agenda timelessly and automatically.
They can’t help people please.
Give them a break.
Remember my scathing attack on the devious journalist Neil Oelofse, my comments was censored and I was taken aback as I thought that freedom of speech is only prohibited when a bunch of corrupt politicians want to shut you up. So I am standing by what I said on him and will not retract any nasty thing I said about him as it was nothing but the truth.
However I want to speak about a man that although he was a opposition politician, I had a lot of time for him. I have debated countlessly with him on several issues from Tourism to BBBEE and have always found him to be accomodating and kind. No matter how devious people may say he was. I had breakfast and drinks with him on numerous occassions and although I stood my ground, I have formed a genuine acquintance and friendship with him. He was a man that really wanted to be forgiven for what might have happened in the dark days and he was making a genuine attempt at it.
He was very learned and could talk about great books for hours.
I hope that his family will take strength from his legacy as he was a good man.
Hope my comments is not censored this time cause I am singing praises to a really nice guy.
