The Mayor’s 8th and a Half Newsletter – Part 1

JEF was very interested in the Mayor’s eighth and a half Newsletter. Unfortunately, instead of clearing up his mistakes (covering up his lies) in the 8th Newsletter, which was undoubtedly the intention, he has only succeeded in opening another proverbial can of worms, or more accurately many cans. JEF tried to make its response short and to the point, but we will only be able to deliver a proper reply in three parts, which follow hereunder and hereafter.

PRESS RELEASE BY ALBERT HERTZOG ON BEHALF OF THE NATIONAL PARTY, SEPTEMBER 1969, ON WHETHER THE ALL BLACK RUGBY TEAM MAY FIELD NON-WHITE PLAYERS IN MATCHES ON THEIR TOUR TO SOUTH AFRICA:

DR. HENDRIK VERWOERD ON 16 JUNE 1964 IN THE CABINET ABOUT THE JUDGMENT BY CHIEF JUSTICE QUARTES DE WET IN THE RIVIONA TREASON TRAILS, AND MORE SPECIFICALLY THAT MANDELA WAS NOT SENTENCED TO DEATH:

“Hierdie mense is misdadigers, Kommunistiese misdadigers… Wanneer dus in daardie kringe gesê word dat hulle bly is dat Mandela ʼn lewenslange straf gekry het en nie die doodstraf nie, want hy mag nog soos Kenjatta, die leier van die toekoms word, dan sê ek: God verhoed dit”.

Fortunately today we all know the truth and even more thankfully, God in fact did allow Mandela to become a leader of the future. After this “criminal”, who should have been “hanged by the neck”, was released, and despite of the risk of ending up in the political desert, he singlehandedly ensured and negotiated the continuation of the Springbok emblem for our National Rugby Team and became arguably the most recognizable icon in the modern world, globally hailed as one of (if not the) most influential leaders in history.

You might now wonder why this is relevant to the Mayoral 8th and a half newsletter. JEF however wonders how they managed to sell this baloney to the vast majority of the white population and even to a significant portion of “non-white” population. Why was the average young South African prepared to go to war and die for this? How could it have such a powerful and long lasting effect on educated people, who was the pioneers worldwide in various fields of technology and medicine at the time? The day Mandela was released, white children as young as five marched in the streets of certain towns, carrying banners and chanting “hang Mandela, hang Mandela…”

Answer: Because they had the sheep mentality and were too lazy to think for themselves and check the facts for themselves. It was much easier to believe the leaders of the day and fall in by their popular and prosperous beliefs. They were constantly bombarded with propaganda and the lies contained therein were repeated over and over again until the people eventually believed it. They couldn’t pull it off without the media, who played a massive role in managing the people’s perception. Lastly, anyone who dared to challenge them was quickly and efficiently dealt with, isolated and branded as a criminal.

These same tactics are being used today, and like then, they are extremely effective. The WAR ROOM, stationed in Cape Town, feeds these instructions to their foot soldiers like Thys Giliomee, Brummer and Duppie, and they again instruct their puppet Memory to execute same. The ever-present journalist husband and wife team, who somehow just always know exactly what happens in the municipality, sometimes even before it is announced, then play their vital part dutifully and always loyal to their masters wishes. No wonder the Oelofse’s are now being held responsible by a lot of people for causing reprisal attacks in the Industrial Area after ignoring the business owner’s statement that they do not want to be dragged into politics or to be perceived as choosing sides. They ignored this plea simply because their master’s wishes are more important to them.

The single journalist, who was always prepared to publish the truth in the face of all the lies, was now ordered by her editor to stop articles that are unnecessarily politically charged. We believe that her articles regarding JEF (which put us in a good light) were stopped on the printer’s doorstep following numerous complaints and threats the paper have received from Neil Oelofse, the DA and in particular Brummer. They reluctantly finally cave in under all the pressure. What happened here is a scandal. Our heart goes out to this journalist and her editor for everything they had to go through and endure.

Because the people of Bitou and the Garden Route deserves better than being lied to and deceived, JEF will not hold back in this response. Where possible we will back up our statements with documentary proof, and where we are not 100% certain of anything we will say so. Please forgive the brutality of this response but the time has arrived to call a spade a spade. We know this is a long response but we urge you to read everything, since everything stated herein is thus far the most important information published by us.

So, let us get stuck into the 8th and a half Newsletter: as usual the Newsletter is in black and JEF’s comments in blue.

NEWSLETTER
28 March 2012

After sending out my eighth mayoral letter, I felt like I did not cover enough subjects or explain certain areas in enough detail, so I am sending you an eighth-and-a-half mayoral letter.

No mister mayor, you were concerned because JEF shot too many holes in your 8th letter. You said in your 8th letter that you will only send out letters as events unfold. No event unfolded since the 8th letter, other than JEF’s response to your letter.

Update on Suspended Municipal Manager The ex Municipal Manager

Lonwabo Nqolo, was dismissed from Bitou Municipality on 7 February. He was found guilty on four of seven charges, the most serious being his involvement in the R28 million/Wavelengths land deal.

According to Judge P.C.Combrinck in his sentence:

[11] Taking all the counts as one for purposes of sanction I consider that dismissal is the only proper sanction. In the circumstances the sanction which I impose is one of dismissal from the service of the Municipality. – 6th February 2012 JUDGE P.C.COMBRINCK CHAIRMAN.”

Judge Combrinck wrote a very impressive finding and sanction document which you are welcome to read in its entirety. For a copy please email my PA at mnsiko@plett.gov.za and he will email you a copy.

Mr. Hardy Mills, attorney for Mr. Ngoqo, referred a dispute to the South African Local Government Bargaining Council.

On behalf of Plett, I would like to thank Judge Pete Combrinck for his highly professional, thorough and exemplary chairmanship of Nqolo’s disciplinary hearing. Further to the Wavelengths land deal referred to in the sanction, the hearing to determine whether Wavelengths has a binding contract with Bitou Municipality, was heard in Cape Town High Court on 28-29 February. Judgement was reserved and a decision is expected around end of April.

All the repetitive propaganda and repetitive expressions of gratitude in the world will not change what will happen on appeal. We know this strategy it is very effective in managing the public’s perception, but thankfully it cannot change the law of our country.

Part 2 here.

  1. Red5 says:

I know this is not really relevant, but I seriously have to question Memory’s intelligence when he does not even know the correct surname of the previous MM – Nqolo indeed…

  2. Amazed says:

Maybe Memory should wait until after the appeal to the bargaining council has been finalised before he heaps praise and thanks unto the Honourable (ex) Judge Combrinck. I would hate to have to witness Memory having to (once again) eat his words (or issue an 8th and a three quarter Newsletter) if the bargaining council were to find that the Mr. Ngoco’s disciplinary hearing was in fact not fair. I must say, it would be mighty funny to read/hear Memory explain that away…

  3. Wicked Mike says:

You lads have been busy. A second opinion is most welcome because it’s far too rare nowadays.

Unfortunately, the public are sheep. If only they would bother to learn both sides before making up their opinion. Instead most will simply decide according to party or skin colour which only serves to hurt our country. Truth should have value as should the ability to make our own minds up.

  4. FUNNY says:

If our mayor published letters like this every month I will shoot myself in the head and he would be the laughing stock of the town. The dishonesty and deceitfulness thereof is sickening to say the least. I guess if you write to sheep you must write like a sheep. Are you guys for real?

  5. JOKE says:

If our mayor treated us with letters like these every month I will shoot myself in the head and he will be the laughing stock of the town. I’ve never seen such honeyed goody-goody and blatantly phony letters in my life. Are you guys for real? Well, I guess if you write for sheep you better write like a sheep.
